About Me

Hello, I'm Katie Tan.  I have been doing hair professionally for over 10 years,  and makeup even longer.  Although my love for both began much earlier.  

I was trained at the Carsten Institute and then his salon where I assisted and worked for Carsten Wilms for over 4 years. Then went on to run my own business out of Salon Surreal, where I was happy to be for almost 6 years. Looking to come closer to home,  I found Bella Donne Salon Suites. It was a perfect match. Bringing me to Salon KT, which I opened in November 2011.  I love being on this side of town now. I am looking forward to providing high end quality service, that you don't have to drive in town for, at a reasonable price.

All the color services are done with Goldwell Professional Color.  Over the years, I have always been very happy with the coverage, consistency and shine that stays color true. My specialty is fine natural looking highlights but if you want them chunky I can do that too!

My extensive training in cutting covers all hair types and textures,  including but not limited to naturally curly hair. All my Men's haircuts are done by scissor over comb.  I strive to create looks that work for you and your needs from styling to maintenance.  



My best asset as a stylist is my listening skills.  The most important thing with any hair stylist is consultation!  You will receive a thorough consultation with me whether it's your first time or your 100th.  I want to find out all your needs and concerns so I can give you your dream hair.
